Creating new Client Installation packages in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console

Question/Issue:
You would like to know how to create new client installation packages using the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) Console. You can use the following instructions to assist with this process.


Solution:
Creating a new package in SEPM:

  1. Open Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console
  2. Click the Admin Tab on the left
  3. Select the Install Packages button in the lower center section.
  4. Click Add a Client Install Package under Tasks
  5. Specify the name you would like the package to have
  6. Click Browse
  7. Browse the original installation media to \SEPM\PACKAGES
  8. Choose SAV32.info or SAV64.info
  9. Click Open
  10. Click OK on the "Add New Software Package" screen


Exporting the new package to an EXE file:
  1. Open SEPM
  2. Click the Admin Tab on the left
  3. Under "Client Install Package" right click the package of your choice
  4. Click Export
  5. Click Browse and choose the folder where the EXE file should be placed
  6. Click OK
    Note: You can leave all items as the default or choose the options you would like.
  7. Click OK
