Changes made to Vp_Login.ini are not saved after restarting the Symantec AntiVirus service or the computer

Question/Issue:
You edit the Vp_login.ini file in order to change the logon script installation options. When you restart the Symantec AntiVirus service or the computer, the Vp_login.ini file reverts to its original configuration.

Symptoms:
Changes made to Vp_Login.ini are not saved after restarting the Symantec AntiVirus service or the computer You edit the Vp_login.ini file in order to change the logon script installation options. Solution:
To prevent the changes to Vp_login.ini from reverting, mark the Vp_login.ini file as read-only. You can also make the changes in the registry, bypassing the Vp_login.ini file. To do so, change the DoInstallOnwinNT value in the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\LoginOptions
