Does IM Manager Work with Daylight Savings Time?
Question/Issue:
Does IM Manager correctly identify and display times based on the daylight savings time of the local timezone?
Does IM Manager work correctly after leap second adjustments?
Solution:
IM Manager only supports US-based Daylight Savings Time.
- IM Manager 8.1.4 or higher must be used.
- The operating system time and timezone must be set appropriately. See the Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center.
- The timezone must be set in the IM Manager Administration Console.
- Open the IM Manager Administration Console.
- Click on the Administration tab.
- Click on the Configuration > Administrators Info menu item.
- Select the timezone from the Timezone dropdown.
- Check the Observe Daylight Savings Time checkbox.
- Click Submit.
Leap Second
Leap seconds are adjustments in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) to align it with changes in the earth's rotation. Provided that the operating system synchronizes itself over NTP (network time protocol), IM Manager will function correctly. If the operating system does not sync, reports and message logging could be off by a second until the synchronization does occur.
