Symantec Gateway Security Appliance 300 series DIP switch reference

Question/Issue:
You need information about functions of the DIP switches on the Symantec Gateway Security 300 Series appliance.

Solution:
On models in this series, all DIP switches are set to off (down) position by default. Turning the DIP switches to the on (up) position enables specific functions.

Individual switch function

No individual function.
No individual function.
Enables serial console access.
Used in conjunction with the reset button to reset the appliance to the last all.bin firmware update. This is also referred to as a "restore to reserved application." Firmware updates received through LiveUpdate are not all.bin updates, so performing this reset removes software that was installed using that method.

Switch combinations
Switches 1 and 2 on:

Firmware update keeps existing configurations)
Backup and restore customer configurations

Switches 2 and 4 on:

Force firmware update (overwrites existing configuration)
