Upgrading the Multi-Server Console for Symantec Mail Security 4.x for Microsoft Exchange requires reboot

Question/Issue:
Upgrading the Multi-Server Console for Symantec Mail Security 4.x for Microsoft Exchange (SMS for Exchange) prompts the user to reboot the console computer at the end of the install.


Solution:
A change is made in SMS for Exchange 4.0.1 build 458, which no longer requires a reboot of the console computer.

To obtain SMS for Exchange 4.0.1 build 458 please use the appropriate section.

Platinum customers
Product information and new build downloads are available on the Platinum Web site.

To find product information and build downloads

  1. Log on to the Platinum Web site.
  2. Under Product Support, select your Product and Version from the pull-down menus.
  3. Click Continue. The product page appears. The latest build will be available for download under the Product Updates section.

North American Gold customers
Software media is automatically shipped when a new product version is available on CD to customers with Upgrade Insurance.

Other builds (updates) are only available through Symantec Technical Support as a solution to a technical problem.
