System requirements for Symantec Mail Security 4.0 for Microsoft Exchange

Solution:
Symantec Mail Security 4.0 for Microsoft Exchange runs under Microsoft Windows 2000 on the Intel platform. Domain administrator-level privileges to Windows 2000 are required to install Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange.

Server requirements

Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server/ Enterprise Server with Service Pack 3 or later
Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server/Datacenter Server with Service Pack 3 or later
512 MB Ram
190 MB available disk space to install
260 MB available disk space needed for remote installation
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 Service Pack 2 or later
Intel Server class 32-bit processor

Note: Symantec Mail Security does not support Exchange 2000 Conference server.

Multiserver console requirements

Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 2 or Windows XP
140 MB available disk space for Symantec Mail Security Console installation
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 Service Pack 2 or later
Microsoft Management Console version 1.2
Intel Server-class 32-bit processor

Note: To manage Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange using the multiserver console, all Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange servers must be in the same domain as the console.

Supported in Symantec Mail Security for Exchange 4.0.1 build 456 or newer.
