Download times

Due to the various types of Internet connections and speeds, download times of Norton products can vary from a few minutes to a few hours. Orders for downloads are encouraged only if you have a high-speed Internet connection. If you have a dial-up connection, we recommend that you purchase the box copies of the product so that you can install it with a CD.

File types

Once downloaded you should see a new icon on your desktop that is an executable file. This will start the installation of your new product. It should appear in a form like NIS081550.exe. You might also see an icon that says "Install [Product name/year]" that launches the installation. If you have not completed the product download, then you will see an icon that prompts you to continue the download.
