Situation: You have received a Notification that a upgraded product is available. You wish to upgrade your licenses and obtain your Upgrade Key.

Solution: There are two steps that must be completed to obtain your license key or license file:

1. Processing the Notification for the Product (see below for more details)
2. Upgrading each license to the latest version (see below for more details)


Process the Notification for the Product

1. Navigate to the Licensing Portal at https://licensing.symantec.com.
• For easy future use, it is advisable to bookmark this site.
2. Select the Language you wish to view the site in.
3. Login using your User ID and password. If you have not previously created an account please create your account and then return to the Version Upgrade section.

4. Select the “Version Upgrades”.

5. Input the “Notification ID” and “Customer Number”. These are listed in the PDF file that was sent to you via email from UpgradeCenter@symantec.com.

6. Select the Submit button.

7. You have just added/registered your Notification ID. This has not registered the license file.

8. Select “Order this Upgrade Now” link.

9. Select “Upgrade Licenses” button.

10. Select “Process Request”.

11. Please allow up to 2 hours for the system to update. To verify if complete (Processed) go to your “Product Upgrade Catalog” and look under the invitation status.

Upgrade Each License you want to Latest Version

1. Select “Manage Licenses”.





2. Select “License Catalog”.




3. Select on “Advanced Search” .

4. In the “Search by License Details” section, the last field is how you select Customer Numbers from the drop down box and select “Search” . You may have multiple Customer Numbers.





5. This will bring you to your license catalog showing you all of your registered licenses, both Security & Availability entitlements. If you do not see the appropriate licenses in your catalog, please add them to your catalog via Adding Entitlement (licenses or orders) to your Symantec Licensing Portal Account.

6. Select the license you wish to be updated and select “View Details” for that license.





7. This will take you to the “Entitlement Details” for that license. Under “License Key Options” select “Upgrade this License Key” and follow the prompts to upgrade the license. The key will be in the “License Key Details” entitled “License” and may be visible for you have to download it to your computer.
8. Save license file as a .txt file (notepad).

Note: Repeat this entire process for each license to be upgraded. After a license has been upgraded, it will rotate to the bottom of the catalog and the next one to upgrade will be at the top of your catalog.
